Celebrations
National Nursing Home Week
Every May, Franklin Oaks celebrates National Nursing Home Week with a week filled by a variety of specially planned events aimed at showing our residents a ton of fun. Outdoor games, cookouts, fruity drinks, casino games, dances, and special
dinners are just a few of the ways we celebrate. Families, staff, and Residents really enjoy this time of year, and it all starts off with a Mother’s Day Tea to honor our Mothers.
Veteran’s Day Pinning Ceremony
In November, we hold a ceremony for our resident veterans during which they are honored by being recognized and pinned. We have guest speakers, a flag ceremony, and refreshments. Families and the public are invited to participate in this event.
Annual Fishing Trip

Curtis Gill enjoying our Annual Fishing Trip
Yearly, we take the fishermen (and fisherwomen) of our facility to the Newton Farm for fun in the sun. We pack a picnic style lunch to be served on the deck. Residents spend the day fishing and snacking in the great outdoors.
With plenty of fish to catch and beautiful scenery to enjoy, this is an event that staff and residents look forward to. It gets bigger every year!
